Cultural Convenings with TCG
Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is the national service organization for regional nonprofit theatres in the U.S. and the publisher of American Theatre Magazine. Devon produced convenings and other programming at TCG for over a decade, often leading both the program design and production processes. In 2016 she was named director of the new conferences and fieldwide learning department for TCG, then in 2022 evolved to the director of fieldwide programming, overseeing a more comprehensive season planning process. “I had never worked or attended a TCG National Conference, and the department I worked in had six different locations we were working in, often overlapping. Devon never lost her focus if there was a question or something that needed to be adjusted. I’ve worked at large trade shows before and have often seen organizers get flustered when things go wrong. This never happened with Devon. She handled every question, change or issue with grace, ease and strong leadership.”
TCG National Conference
TCG has hosted national convenings of theatre practitioners for many years. In 2020, Devon led the pivot to the organization’s first fully virtual conferences in light of the global pandemic. TCG Fall Forum on Governance
TCG’s Fall Forum was a tightly focused annual leadership and governance conference for over 200 executive leaders and trustees of nonprofit theatres around the country. TCG Audience (R)Evolution Convenings
Audience (R)Evolution was “a multi-year program designed by TCG and funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation to study, promote and support successful audience engagement and community development models across the country.” Devon co-produced the program’s two convenings, in Philly in 2013 and in Kansas City in 2015.
“So glad to have worked with Devon for the TCG conference in Chicago. The amount of care and consideration that took place for the event, team and execution was greatly appreciated. I love that the work was always approached through an inclusive and equitable lens.”
